Frequently Asked Questions
What makes ZadFi Shariah compliant?
ZadFi uses Murabaha, a sale-based financing method where the provider buys an asset and sells it to the seeker at a markup. This is fundamentally different from interest-based loans because it involves real asset transfer and fixed pricing known upfront. No Riba (interest), no Gharar (uncertainty), no haram assets.
How are prices determined without an oracle?
Providers set their own sale prices and collateral requirements. This is more transparent than algorithmic pricing and removes attack vectors from oracle manipulation. The market naturally finds fair prices through provider competition.
What is Murabaha financing?
Murabaha is a sale-based financing method where a seller discloses the cost and markup to the buyer. The buyer pays in installments while immediately owning the asset. It is one of the most common Islamic financing methods used by Islamic banks worldwide.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Missing one payment does not let the provider claim default immediately. `claimDefault()` is only available after actual delinquency: either the contract has passed its end time, or an installment remains unpaid past its schedule grace period. Once default is claimed, collateral is split deterministically: the provider receives debt coverage and any surplus is refunded to the seeker. No penalty fees or interest charges.
What does it mean that request collateral is escrowed?
When you create a request, the collateral amount is locked in the factory immediately. This prevents later collateral pulls via standing allowance during funding. If a provider funds less than your maximum requested amount, only proportional collateral is moved into the deal contract and the rest is refunded. If you cancel (after delay), escrowed collateral is returned.
Does the cancellation delay guarantee an offer will remain fillable?
No. The delay guarantees cancellation state timing, but not guaranteed fillability. For offers, provider token balance/allowance can change before acceptance. For requests, seeker collateral is escrowed at creation, so seeker-side fillability is stronger.
What assets can I finance?
Any Shariah-compliant real asset approved by the Shariah Council for the relevant role. Eligible assets must represent real economic value and fit Murabaha requirements. ZadFi does not pre-announce or pre-judge specific tokens; the approved asset list will be published after council review before mainnet launch.
What can I use as collateral?
Collateral eligibility is decided by the Shariah Council through token-by-token review before mainnet. The review considers asset backing, economic structure, transfer behavior, and Shariah status. ZadFi does not name specific eligible or ineligible collateral tokens in advance.
How does ZadFi prevent Riba (interest)?
ZadFi enforces Riba protection at both the smart contract and UI level. The financed asset and the payment currency must always be different tokens. This prevents the prohibited practice of lending and repaying the same fungible currency with a surplus. The smart contracts reject any transaction where assetToken equals paymentToken, and token eligibility is governed by Shariah Council review.
How do I become a provider?
Connect your wallet, go to the marketplace, and create an offer. Specify the asset, amount, sale price, duration, and collateral requirements. Seekers will browse and accept offers that match their needs.
Are there any fees?
ZadFi can charge a flat samsarah (brokerage) fee on Sepolia when a payment token has a fee configured in the whitelist. The taker pays it once at match time, separately from the Murabaha debt. Installments and `payInFull()` remain fee-free: 100% of each payment goes to the provider. The fee is a fixed ujrah, not a percentage of debt.
What is the minimum financing amount?
There is no protocol-enforced minimum. However, providers may set their own minimum amounts based on their liquidity and risk appetite.
Is ZadFi open source?
Not yet. The repository is still private today. We plan to publish the source code and complete Etherscan verification at open-source time before mainnet launch.
When will you launch on mainnet?
We are currently in a public Sepolia testnet phase. Mainnet remains a Q3 2026 target, but launch depends on an external security audit, Shariah board certification, and final launch-readiness checks.
How much formal verification is complete today?
As of the April 18, 2026 proof snapshot, ZadFi has 77/77 Certora rules verified across 7 specs and 26/35 tracked invariants proven, with 0 open properties in the current matrix. Recent additions formally cover premature-default prevention and factory-side whitelist and distinct-token guards. The Status page and docs are the public source of truth for the latest snapshot.
